Radiation Oncology Physicist - Travel/Contract
Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday (5x8 hours) from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Patient Population: Adult and Geriatrics
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
- Total Staffed Beds: 615
- Dress Code: Black scrubs or business casual permitted
- Charting System: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Physicist experience
- Experience with Cerner
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- Background check within 1 year of start, including 7 years of residence/work/school history
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
- Education verification required for all healthcare professionals
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
- Drug testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required with mask mandate if declined
- Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required
Required Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
- BLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (not specifically required for this role)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) as applicable
- Color blind testing (Relias Color Blind Exam) prior to start
Documentation and Facility Requirements
- Clear, professional photo for badge required prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approximately 4-8 hours)
- Compliance with facility dress code and tobacco policy
- Completion of facility-required surveys if working during hurricane season (June 1 - November 30)
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers accepted
- No weekend or on-call duties required
- No floating outside scope of practice
- Must maintain all licenses and certifications current throughout assignment
- Two professional references from the past 2 years required
- Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and available for facility review
