Description
Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week (Thursday-Saturday), 12 hours per shift (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2-week period)
Weekend Requirement: Every Saturday
Call: Optional for agency techs
Job Description
- Float coverage required between Outpatient, Inpatient, and Emergency Department MRI units.
- The MRI department performs a variety of exams including specialized studies such as Cardiac MRI and Breast MRI during the day shift.
- Patient acuity ranges from ambulatory to total assist; day shift sees more ambulatory patients, night shift (not this role) handles more dependent inpatients.
- Preferred experience with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents.
Facility Information
- Level II Trauma Center with outpatient, interventional radiology, emergency, and inpatient services.
- Total staffed beds: 571 (across campuses).
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Parking: Facility paid.
- Scrub color: Any except reddish orange.
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT-MR or ARRT-IT certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable).
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification required.
- State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable for Washington.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 9-panel within 12 months of start.
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background.
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years.
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
- Radiation badges issued by facility as applicable.
- Medication and competency exams required as applicable.
- Color blind testing may be required on a unit basis.
- Epic training modules required for access to electronic health records.
- Fit mask testing required onsite or valid record within 1 year.
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific and state-specific credentialing and compliance requirements.
This position offers a structured 13-week travel contract with a focus on MRI technology in a high-acuity, trauma center environment, supporting a diverse patient population including pediatric patients.
