Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (most likely straight night shift; possible schedule flip every 4 weeks if covering days and nights)
Hours: 36 hours per week (60 hours guaranteed per 2 weeks, with possible call-off for one 12-hour shift every 2 weeks)

Unit and Facility Overview

• Unit: High Risk Labor & Delivery, OB Triage/Testing, Antepartum
• Typical patient volume: ~7 daily deliveries, up to 14 with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
• OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients daily plus triage influx
• Facility type: Acute hospital, Magnet designated, Level II Trauma center
• Total staffed beds: 407
• Charting system: Epic
• Parking: Free
• Scrub color: Provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alaska
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Weekend work required every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• May float within scope to similar units if needed
• Block scheduling accommodations not available
• Local candidates not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)

• Candidates must submit all required documentation including government-issued photo ID, social security card, employment application covering last 5 years, and education verification as applicable
• Background and credentialing requirements are extensive and include state-specific searches and verifications
• Annual training and compliance modules must be completed via the designated learning management system
• Physical and health documentation must be current and compliant with facility and state requirements

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with at least 1 year of experience, current Alaska RN licensure, and required certifications who is open to a 13-week travel contract working primarily night shifts in a high-acuity, Magnet-designated hospital setting.
