Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Job - Jersey City, NJ


Job Details

  • Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Description

  • Work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit requirements
  • Call and every third weekend required
  • Procedures include:
    • LHC Diagnostic/Intervention
    • RHC
    • Pericardiocentesis
    • Cardiomems
    • Impella, IABP insertion
    • TAVR
    • Mitral Clips, PFO
    • AICD placement, PPM
    • EPS, Ablation, LAAC
    • Neuro Procedures: Cerebral Angio, Carotid Angio, Angioplasty, Stenting, Embolization, Thrombolysis, Thrombectomy
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Housing suggestions due to local events: Staten Island, Montclair, West Orange, Belleville

Required Experience and Certifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Competencies & Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs/LPNs if applicable)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (relevant for critical care and cath lab staff)
  • IV Therapy/Infusion Exam (for RNs, if applicable)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) as required by facility
  • Color Blind Testing (if job tasks require color discrimination)

Background & Health Requirements

  • Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Negative urine drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
  • TB screening: either IGRA blood test within 3 months or 2-step PPD skin test (1st within 12 months, 2nd within 3 months)
  • Respiratory Medical Clearance and on-site fit test prior to start (annual update required)
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
  • Immunization proof or positive titer for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or compliant vaccine series)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within past 10 years (declinations accepted with mask requirement)
  • Latex Allergy Screening Questionnaire if job tasks require glove use or respirator

Additional Requirements

  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
  • Two references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
  • Skills checklist updated annually (Aya requirement)
  • Facility-specific documents and attestations to be completed prior to start
  • Must complete annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment
  • Must comply with floating policy for new assignments or site transfers

Notes

  • Candidates must bring physical exam and respiratory clearance documents on first day for mandatory on-site fit testing
  • Candidates with name changes must provide proof of name change and include all names in background check
  • Candidates switching between sites with less than 30-day gap may use previously submitted documentation if within required timeframes
  • Failure to pass required competency or pharmacology exams after 3 attempts will result in cancellation
