Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend nights only

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience not required

Licenses and Certifications Required

  • ARDMS AB or ARDMS OB/GYN certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Job Description

  • Cover STAT and ASAP ultrasound orders throughout the hospital, primarily ER and OB triage
  • Most exams are performed in the ultrasound department; some portable exams may be required
  • Routine exams are not expected during the shift but appreciated if time allows
  • No on-call required

Candidate Restrictions

  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract
  • Pending licenses are not accepted

  • 325 staffed beds
  • Charting system: EPIC

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for I9 and state-specific searches)
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • Various federal and state background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification required
  • WA State Patrol Search required within 90 days of start for Washington placements
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)

Training and Competency Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Competency exams as applicable by specialty
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or assessment if required by unit
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Epic training modules completion required

References and Employment History

  • Minimum 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked
  • Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARDMS certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Notes

  • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
  • Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable
  • Locals within 50 miles are not eligible for travel contract
