Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Olney, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Wed 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform interventional radiology (IR) procedures including scrubbing for IR, vascular, and pain management cases.
- Operate Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm equipment.
- Procedural types include:
- Interventional: Tunneled catheter placements (mediports, permacaths, Hickman lines), embolizations, drain placements, suprapubic catheter placements, PEG tube placements, Pleurx catheter placements.
- Pain Management: Epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablations.
- Vascular: Angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filter placements.
- Unit also handles CT and X-ray cases, but floating to these areas is not required.
- No on-call or weekend shifts.
- Every other holiday required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland.
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Prior travel experience (must have completed at least one prior travel contract).
- Certifications:
- ARRT-R (Radiologic Technologist)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Fluoroscopy permit.
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Overall score ≥ 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency (minimum 80% passing score).
Additional Information
- No weekend or on-call shifts.
- Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate.
- Floating to CT and X-ray areas is not required.
- Must be proficient in scrubbing and assisting with IR, vascular, and pain procedures.
- Holiday coverage every other holiday is required.
This position is ideal for an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist seeking a travel contract with a structured day shift schedule and no weekend or on-call responsibilities.
