  • Day shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed, following established practices and standards. Responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions and diagnoses, preparing treatment and protection devices, maintaining records, assisting in tumor localization and dosimetry procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver prescribed radiation therapy accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare treatment room and equipment according to Radiation Oncologist’s prescription.
  • Maintain communication with patients during treatment and explain procedures.
  • Observe and report any unusual patient reactions or treatment complications.
  • Assist patients with mobility needs related to treatment.
  • Maintain patient treatment charts, photographs, and documentation.
  • Perform simulation and dosimetry procedures, including tumor localization.
  • Fabricate treatment devices such as lead shielding blocks.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols for patients and staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities under supervision.
  • Rotate on-call and weekend duties as scheduled.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in New Mexico
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
