Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Newberry, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Tuesdays and Thursdays only (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 16 hours
Job Description
- Perform duties as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Work schedule is limited to two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Emergency contact form completed prior to start.
- Background checks including:
- 7-year residence/work/school history search.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM verification (annual).
- HHS/OIG verification (annual).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- Fit mask certification (3M 1860/1860s or 3M Aura 1870), updated annually.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot).
- Immunization or titer proof for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (or restart if break >12 weeks).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form required annually.
- COVID vaccination preferred; declination form accepted. Masking may be required based on hospital policy.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific orientation checklist and employment application ASAP.
- Annual skills checklist.
- Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years).
- One professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles.
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- This position is part-time with a fixed schedule of two 8-hour shifts per week.
