Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Float (Travel/Contract)

Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Float pool position: will float to Medical-Surgical (MS), Telemetry (Tele) units, and Rehab as needed
• Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), every other weekend (EOW)
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Documentation & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including Pennsylvania PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) Search completed 3 business days prior to start
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days
• Employment application and most recent resume required
• Two professional references within 3 years of start
• Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (Aya requirement only)
• Annual skills checklist
• Photo for badge: passport-style, clear, professional headshot with light background
• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Fit mask testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific approved mask types required)
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) or declination form
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
• Completion of facility-specific documents including:

  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form
  • Commitment to Health & Wellness
  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • Hepatitis B declination form (if applicable)
  • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration (if applicable)
  • Review of Wellspan Way Description (for candidate awareness)
• Completion of required Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not on cell phones)
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing and Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam within 72 hours of contract signing

• No call requirements
• Floating as needed to MS, Telemetry, and Rehab units
• Background checks and health documents have specific expiration and renewal requirements (e.g., fingerprinting renewed every 5 years, fit testing annually)
• Candidate must notify if unable to comply with tobacco/fragrance-free policy
• Candidate must be prepared for manager interview after clinical screening

Shift Details

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (total 36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend required

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with floating between units, working night shifts, and meeting comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
