Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide care in Labor and Delivery, including:

  • Performing vaginal exams
  • Assisting in vaginal deliveries
  • Circulating in cesarean section deliveries
• Start IVs and draw blood
• Assist with stabilization of newborns post-delivery using Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) skills
• Recognize and respond to complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
• Shift options: Night or Day, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
• May consider straight day shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery
• Comfortable with vaginal exams, deliveries, and newborn stabilization
• No explicit minimum years of experience stated, but must be competent in required skills
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Additional Information

• Two professional references required (within 3 years) for travel or acute care roles
• Facility will provide first week’s schedule and badge photo requirements
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Workplace Violence Prevention training completed onsite during orientation for applicable units
• Cardiac Procedure Education and Competency Assessment required for telemetry units (if assigned)

This position offers a comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing experience in a travel contract setting with a supportive orientation and credentialing process.
