Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
On Call: Required (no weekends or holidays unless on-call)
Floating: Not required

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Work hours: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 4 days a week (40 hours/week)
• Assist with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), pre- and post-catheterization care
• Moderate sedation assistance
• Scrub and circulate during procedures (scrub experience preferred)
• Use of Xper and Paragon charting systems
• Critical care experience required with at least 1 year of cath lab experience
• Must have skills in both scrubbing and circulating in the cath lab environment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
• Experience in both scrubbing and circulating in the cath lab environment

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of cath lab experience with critical care skills
• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted

Compliance & Documentation

• Criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including aliases and jurisdictions
• SAM and OIG federal exclusion checks within 30 days of start
• State license verification and primary source verification as applicable
• IV Certification required if previously worked in New Jersey hospitals; proof must be provided or candidate must complete facility IV modules
• Medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams required for all RNs (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail medication exam prior to orientation start
• Orientation includes mandatory hospital orientation and 8-12 hours of McKesson training
• Cornerstone online modules (~8 hours) must be completed prior to assignment start
• Photo for badge required (shoulders up, plain background)
• References: 3 required, including at least one supervisor-level reference
• Employment application must show minimum 2 years of acute care experience
• Work history verification required for at least 1 year prior to start date with no gaps over 30 days (New Jersey candidates)

Additional Notes

• No floating to other units
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Candidates must complete an orientation self-study packet prior to start
• Candidates must complete all required compliance documents by the document deadline or risk cancellation
