Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab (Travel)

Alexandria, Louisiana

Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Weekend requirement: Every third or fourth weekend
On-call requirement: Yes, scheduled in collaboration with other staff

Unit and Patient Population

Cardiac catheterization lab
Patients include those with cardiac caths, peripherals, TAVR, cardiac devices, etc.
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 nurse per 2 patients (with 2 nurses and 2 techs covering 4 patients)

Job Summary

Provides routine and complex nursing care independently in a critical care setting
Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers
Expected to meet organizational nursing competencies and standards of practice

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Dress code: Galaxy blue scrubs
Temp-to-perm opportunity available
