Description
Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Temp, Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Humansville, Missouri
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 8
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
- Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly; evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services as needed.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech disorders.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
- Document all required information accurately in electronic records, including treatment minutes and discharge summaries.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
- Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies per regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Adhere to ASHA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Missouri
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience within the last year
- Experience in Long Term Care and Rehabilitation settings
- Experience in supervisory roles
Additional Information
- Productivity expectations:
- Evaluating therapists: 88-90% productivity
- Assistants: 90-93% productivity
- Typical treatment times for SLP: approximately 30 minutes per session.
- Caseload may range from 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluation load.
- Group therapy is allowed and encouraged to help with productivity.
- Each therapist typically has a dedicated device for documentation.
