Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide independent nursing care in a cardiac catheterization lab setting, managing routine and complex patient needs. Care for patients undergoing cardiac caths, peripherals, TAVR, and device procedures. Participate in long-range care planning and clinical situation management, including delegation and assignment of tasks to other care providers.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third or fourth weekend
- On Call: Yes, scheduled collaboratively with staff
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1 nurse per 2 patients (with 2 techs per 4 patients)
- Dress Code: Galaxy blue
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice using nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
- Meet organizational competencies related to leadership and clinical practice

- Temp-to-perm employment possibility
