Definitive Observation Unit Nurse, Progressive Care Nurse, Telemetry Nurse, Medical Surgical Nurse, Med Surg/Telemetry Nurse, Surgical Stepdown Nurse, Stepdown Nurse or Intermediate Care Nurse (2 years)

Education

Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing

Description

Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool - Days

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
Utilize equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
- Laulima Unit: 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs)
Orientation provided for each unit
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday

Shift Details

12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM)
Scheduled 36 hours per week after first week of orientation
No guarantee of hours

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification
ACLS certification

Additional Information

Prior travel experience is required for this position
Floating to multiple units is a core job function
