Registered Nurse - Surgery (Travel)
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Work Type: Full Time
Job Summary
- Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a cardiovascular operating room setting, including open-heart cases.
- Support general OR cases as needed.
- Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
- Demonstrate leadership consistent with professional nursing competencies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Operating Room (OR) experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Additional Information
- Experience with cardiovascular (open-heart) surgical cases is essential.
- Ability to support general operating room cases as needed.
- Return to work (RTO) status must be disclosed upfront before offer.
