Description
MRI Technologist - Radiology
Location: Beaumont, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist performs routine and advanced MRI imaging procedures, supports other imaging technologists, and facilitates efficient patient flow. The role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts and at different campuses as needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance (QA), resolving image processing and archiving issues, and ensuring MRI safety screening. The technologist is expected to engage in ongoing education and adhere to imaging competencies and organizational values.
Patient Population
- Inpatients
- Emergency Room (ER) patients
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients
- 2 outpatient slots per day
Work Schedule
- Rotating shifts: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM and 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
- Full-time
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Licenses & Certifications
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI exams and assist with patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Adapt patient care methods to meet individual physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs
- Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Serve as PACS Superuser during downtime and escalate issues appropriately
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions and follow up as needed
- Promote staff development and collaborate with management, coworkers, and physicians
- Support physician satisfaction by assisting radiologists and referring physicians
- Participate in ongoing education, safety initiatives, and technical advancements
