MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: Thursday/Friday 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week (4 days x 10 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: Yes

- Pending State License Accepted: Yes (State license not required for MRI Tech)
- Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in specialty
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Required Siemens MRI experience

Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Siemens MRI experience mandatory
Compliance and Training Requirements
Completion of multiple facility-specific training modules and attestations, including but not limited to:
- Language Services Training
- CAUTI Education Training
- Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
- Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (except certain units)
- Stroke Education (except pediatric specialties and NICU)
- CLABSI Prevention Training
- Preventing Pressure Injury Training
- Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
- Pyxis ES MedStation Training
- Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
- Patient Bedside Rounding (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
- Ventricular Assist Device Awareness
- AME Blood Administration Module (except Case Managers, Behavioral Health, Home Health)
- New Employee Orientation Module
- 21st Century Cures Act Module
- Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
- Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)
EPIC testing or training may be required depending on prior experience and unit assignment
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 85% passing score)
- Color Blind Testing (minimum 80% passing score; required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024 onward)
Background and Employment History
- Must provide a 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
- Employment verification required for the last 7 years
- One supervisor reference within the past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU/CTICU assignments (charge nurse references not accepted)
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for MRI Tech and other listed units
Additional Notes
- Candidates must have photo ID matching legal name on first day
- Foreign-educated candidates must provide foreign equivalency report and diploma
- All certifications and licenses must be primary source verified within 30 days of start
- Some certifications may be unit-specific; candidates should verify requirements based on assigned unit
