Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Burns, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Emergency Room Nurse with ability to float to MedSurg as needed
- Shift: Day shift, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
- Weekend work required
- Start Date: ASAP
- Locals accepted
- Block scheduling may be accommodated depending on days needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Facility Highlights
- Critical access hospital
- Trauma Level 4 designation
- Total staffed beds: 25
- Scrub color: any preferred colors or patterns

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year search (SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM (must be done annually and within 14 days of start)
- HHS/OIG (must be done annually and within 14 days of start)
- Certifications verification (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP if applicable)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or approved alternatives
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, HIPAA guidelines, compliance and privacy attestation, and COVID-19 exemption forms if applicable
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific protocols for past positives)
- Immunization or titer proof for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required
- COVID-19 vaccination card required per Oregon state rules; religious or medical exemptions require facility-specific forms and approval
Additional Notes
- Cannot guarantee all holidays off
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions apply and must be approved at time of submission
- Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 2 years of start)
This position is ideal for ER nurses with at least 1 year of experience who are flexible to float to MedSurg and are ready to start immediately in a critical access trauma level 4 hospital setting.
