Job Opportunity: Oncology Clinic Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Tualatin, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Floating: Yes, may float to multiple clinic locations based on staffing needs
On Call: No


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in a community hematology/oncology infusion setting.
  • Patient population includes adult hematology and general medical oncology patients.
  • Role includes patient education and care coordination as an RN navigator.
  • Work across five clinic locations with floating assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oregon.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience.
    • At least 1 year of ambulatory infusion experience required.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA provider only.
    • Chemotherapy Certification (Chemo Cert) required.
    • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification required.

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day.
  • Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification.
  • National sex offender search and other federal checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) required within 30 days prior to start.
  • Two professional references from supervisors/managers within the last 24 months required.
  • Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position.
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start.
  • Physical exam not required unless specified by agency standards.
  • Fit mask testing required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent).
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or signed declination.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
    • Tuberculosis questionnaire.
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination/declination documentation.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination for the 2025-26 season.

Training and Orientation

  • Completion of facility-specific online modules prior to start, including:
    • Information Privacy and Security Essentials
    • Integrity Foundations
    • Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
    • Glucometer 2026 (exemptions apply)
    • Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (exemptions apply)
    • Vocera Badge Training (for inpatient RNs)
  • Medication override test provided during orientation (not required before start).
  • Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
  • Facility-specific policies and handbook must be reviewed.

Additional Information

  • Floating to multiple clinic locations may be required; preferences considered when possible.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • Must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
