Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Shift Details

  • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Call required every other week (EOW)
  • Weekends: Every other weekend required
  • Holidays: As needed
  • Floating: As needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Labor and Delivery nursing experience of at least 2 years, with experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Facility & Work Environment

  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility (travelers must be notified)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) Search required 3 business days prior to start, renewed every 5 years
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH Search required, must be finalized prior to start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required
  • Employment application and 2 professional references within 3 years required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Fit mask testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually (specific approved mask types)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
  • Vaccinations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles) – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Mumps – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Rubella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B – positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) or declination with documentation
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap – within 10 years of start
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (specific to agency requirements)

Competency & Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required within 72 hours of contract signing
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required within 48 hours of contract signing

Facility-Specific Documents & Training

  • Passport-style photo for badge required
  • Review and sign:
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
    • Hepatitis B declination form (if applicable)
    • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration
    • Facility-specific orientation and LMS modules (must be completed on PC/laptop prior to start)
  • New hire orientation required by end of first day

Additional Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
  • Candidate will undergo clinical screening and manager interview prior to final approval
  • All health documentation must include two identifying markers (e.g., full name, DOB, or SSN)
  • Candidate must complete all required documentation and training by specified deadlines prior to start date

This position offers a structured night shift schedule with call responsibilities and requires a well-prepared candidate with solid Labor and Delivery nursing experience and certifications. Compliance with extensive background, health, and competency requirements is mandatory.
