Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Days)

Job Overview
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting.
- May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other patient care team members to maintain professional nursing standards.
- Float between Acute Rehab, Med Surg, and any unit within scope of practice.
- Call is required; must be willing to take call shifts.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 to 4/5.
- Average daily patient census: 22.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
Contract Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Orientation: 8 hours non-billable.
- No block scheduling or schedule accommodations allowed.
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed.
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible.
- Candidate must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation.
- 48-hour guarantee is not available.
- Strict call-off policy: after 3 call-offs, contract may be terminated. Call-offs must be communicated at least 1.5 hours in advance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing, including experience within the last year
- Experience in a Rehabilitation setting
- Experience in Charge Nurse roles
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- This is a small community hospital with 35 beds, including 25 medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
- Facility includes a therapeutic pool and physical therapy department, offering acute care, transitional care, and hospice services.
- Windsor, VT offers access to outdoor recreation and is within a 3-hour drive of Boston, Montreal, and New York.
