Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)
Facility Overview
- Short Term Acute Care facility
- 379 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- Dress code: Licensed nursing personnel wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (print tops not allowed except in specific units).
Job Details
- Position does not float between units
- No on-call required
- Weekend work required on a rotation basis with full-time therapy staff
- No block schedules required
- Expected patient ratio: 1:1
- 48-hour shifts are not approved
- Orientation: Reduced Non-Billable Orientation (0 hours vs. standard 40 hours)
- This is a 1-year/first timer licensed acute care PT position
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience
- Physical Therapist experience within the last year
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript)
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Respiratory safety clearance annually for respirator use (travel only)
- Fit mask test (travel only) with annual updates
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with facility-specific policies including float policy acknowledgment
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
- No on-call or 48-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation required
- Parking is free in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
