Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Newberry, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Position involves working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Typical weekly schedule is 3 twelve-hour day shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in South Carolina.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- Fit mask certification (3M 1860/1860s or 3M Aura 1870) within 1 year, updated annually.
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if previously positive, clear chest X-ray within 5 years plus annual TB questionnaire.
- Immunization or positive titer documentation required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (or restart if break in service >12 weeks).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form required annually (flu season Nov 1 – Mar 31). Those declining must wear a mask during flu season.
- COVID vaccination preferred; declination form accepted. Masking may be required during local COVID surges.
Documentation and Compliance
- Emergency contact form required prior to start.
- Employee health screening and orientation documents must be completed promptly.
- Annual skills checklist required.
- Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years).
