Description
MRI Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations on various patient populations following established protocols.
- Work under general supervision of site supervisor and radiology manager.
- May float between two nearby outpatient clinic locations.
- No call requirement.
Schedule
- Standard shift: Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM (5x8 hours, 40 hours/week)
- Alternative shifts considered: 4x10 hours (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3x12 hours (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
- Weekend requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on a rotating basis, adjusting weekday hours accordingly to maintain 40 hours/week
- No holiday shifts required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience (higher value from all sources applied)
- Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required (state license not required)
- BLS certification required
- Radiation badge required; must be provided by agency (facility does not provide)
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment required
- Preferred experience with Sectra and Epic systems
- Skills: General MRI exams including implants, elastography, defecography, breast, and cardiac imaging
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination (declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination, or documented history of chickenpox or declination
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Radiation exposure attestation form required prior to start
Orientation & Training
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules within 5 days of start
- Photo for badge required prior to start (specific photo requirements apply)
- Adherence to personal appearance and dress code policy (teal scrub top, black pants)
