MRI Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Job Summary

Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients following established protocols under general supervision. Additional duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
• Alternative shift options considered: 4x10 hour shifts (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3x12 hour shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
• Weekend requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on a rotating basis
• No call requirement
• Potential float between two nearby outpatient clinic locations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required
• BLS certification required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sectra and Epic systems

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination (declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination, documented history, or declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• Radiation exposure attestation form required prior to start
• Orientation modules to be completed within 5 days of start
• Photo for badge must meet specific requirements and be submitted before start

Additional Notes

• Radius rule: must live within 60 miles of the facility
• Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Facility dress code: teal tops and black pants
• Parking is free
• Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation; avoid confirming new assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Important Facility-Specific Requirements

• Radiation badge is mandatory and may take 5-7 days to process; no floor access without badge
• Agencies must provide monthly or quarterly radiation exposure reports
• Fit testing and respiratory safety clearance required; virtual questionnaire option available if needed
• Additional background check registration required through facility-specific process within 48 hours of signing contract

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, appropriate certifications, and comfort working in an outpatient clinic setting with a defined schedule and rotating weekend shifts.
