Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Work Schedule

• Days, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
• Monday through Friday, with rotational Saturday and Sunday shifts
• Variable start times: 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30, or 9:00 AM
• Possible call coverage if needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cardiac experience
• Registered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS)
• Graduate of an ultrasonography program
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only

Certifications & Compliance

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS may be required depending on unit (check unit description)
• National certification/verification required within 30 days of start and upon expiration
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
• Facility-specific telemetry exams (if applicable) with remediation process for failures
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable

Background and Screening Requirements

• Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace and nationwide sex offender search
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID Form required within 90 days of start
• Education verification required for ultrasonography program graduation
• Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
• TB questionnaire required and updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers required; medical or religious exemptions allowed with facility approval
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; medical or religious exemptions allowed with facility approval
• Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive antibody titer or facility-specific declination form required if providing direct patient care or exposure to blood/body fluids
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (September to April)
• Other vaccines or declinations as required by specific departments (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam collected to meet agency standards (not required by facility)
• Signed acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing as applicable
• Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (passport-style, solid background, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
• References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required
• Employment application and annual skills checklist required
