Description
Job Opportunity: CRT NICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Role: Pediatric CRT with NICU experience
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule block
- On-Call: Not required
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU, pediatric critical care, pediatrics, and emergency department (ED)
- Level IV NICU experience is a hard requirement
- Experience with high-frequency jet ventilator and oscillating ventilator
- Experience managing pediatric cardiac anomalies
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Current North Carolina CRT license
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only
Orientation & Scheduling
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
- Schedule published in 6-week blocks
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must have a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
- Background check within 90 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide searches
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (may start with 2nd booster pending)
- Seasonal flu vaccine (required annually, no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
Documentation & Verification
- Employment application and 7 years of work history required
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
- Competency exams and unit-specific skills checklists required
- Facility-specific online modules must be completed prior to orientation
- Candidate must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
Requirements/Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience totaling at least 2 years
- NICU respiratory therapy experience within the last year
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- Current PALS certification
Notes
- First-time travelers and local candidates within 75 miles are eligible
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments may have some document requirements waived or accepted on file
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training provided onsite if not already held
