Job Description

• Seeking an experienced CVOR Certified Surgical Technician with the ability to take heavy call responsibilities.
• Call coverage includes a 30-minute response time with a team of 2 CVOR Certified Surgical Technicians, a First Assistant (FA), and 2 CVOR Registered Nurses on call daily, weekends, and holidays.
• Required experience includes 5 years with CVOR, general OR, and trauma experience.

Required Qualifications

• Must have CVOR certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Surgical Services (CVOR, general OR, trauma).
• Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
• Valid Surgical Technician license/certification as applicable.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; updated annually. Includes Social Security trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide search, and sex offender registry.
• Wisconsin Caregiver Search required within 90 days of start.
• 2 professional references verified within 2 years of start.
• Annual skills checklist required.

Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – ARC or AHA accepted.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – ARC or AHA accepted.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – ARC or AHA accepted.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – as required.
• National Tech Certification verification as applicable.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Negative QGold TB test within 1 year of start (Chest X-Ray acceptable if within 60 days).
• Immunization or positive titer proof for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen with expanded opiates within 14 days before start (instant tests not accepted). Marijuana positive is not disqualifying.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October to March).

Facility Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no filters).
• Confidentiality statement signed prior to start.
• Compliance checklist completed by agency representative.

Additional Notes

• Locals are accepted but at a lower rate.
• Heavy call requirements necessitate readiness to respond quickly.
• This position is not open to first-time travel healthcare workers.
