- Average Daily Census: 22 patients
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- Floating: May float to other units within scope as needed
- Block Schedule: Schedule requests can be discussed with manager
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restriction

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with use of Rapid Response Teams
- Feeding tube care and management
- Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure experience
- Central line blood draws and PICC line management
- Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) experience
- Respiratory care skills including CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), non-invasive airway management, pre/post thoracic surgery care, and tracheostomy management
- Orthopedic trauma experience
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid/current US Driver’s License or State ID
- Background checks required within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Primary source verifications for certifications and state license
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- Physical exam within one year of start, signed by an appropriate healthcare provider, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions without restrictions
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year of start
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
- References: Two professional references required
- Badge photo required within one week of signing contract
- Completion of computer-based learning modules before orientation
Work Conditions
- No on-call requirement
- Ideally no more than 5 days of return-to-office (RTO) restrictions
- Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
- Scrub color: Any solid color
This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a night shift role in a large, acute care, Magnet-designated hospital with diverse patient care responsibilities.
