• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
• Floating: May float to other units within scope as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with use of Rapid Response Teams
• Feeding tube care and management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure experience
• Central line blood draws and PICC line management
• Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) experience
• Respiratory care skills including CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), non-invasive airway management, pre/post thoracic surgery care, and tracheostomy management
• Orthopedic trauma experience

Additional Requirements

• Must have a valid/current US Driver’s License or State ID
• Background checks required within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Primary source verifications for certifications and state license
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Physical exam within one year of start, signed by an appropriate healthcare provider, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions without restrictions
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year of start
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
• References: Two professional references required
• Badge photo required within one week of signing contract
• Completion of computer-based learning modules before orientation

Work Conditions

• No on-call requirement
• Ideally no more than 5 days of return-to-office (RTO) restrictions
• Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
• Scrub color: Any solid color

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a night shift role in a large, acute care, Magnet-designated hospital with diverse patient care responsibilities.
