Interventional Radiology Technician (Travel/Contract)
Location: Port St Lucie, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology Technician with required neuro experience
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (8/10's schedule)
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching hospital
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: Free in unrestricted spaces
- Scrub Color: White
- Floating: May float within scope to 3 nearby hospitals (within 20 miles)
- Block schedule accommodation: No
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Pending license accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
- Minimum 1.5 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, with experience within the last year
- Neuro experience is required
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARRT certification
- Additional Cath/EP experience preferred as floating may include these areas
- RCIS certification preferred but not required
- On-call: Required once a week and once every 6 weekends (details provided during interview)
- Must be nicotine-free (smoke-free facility) with negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
- Background checks:
- 7-year criminal background check updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan accepted nationwide
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
- National certification verification within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
- Seasonal influenza vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed with approved documentation)
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
- 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually) required
- Radiation badge issued by facility as applicable
Orientation & Training
- Online training modules must be completed by due date prior to start; modules accessed via computer using Google Chrome
- Modules include COVID documentation submission and cannot be skipped
- Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Pharmacology) not required for this role (only for RN/LPN)
- Safety manual and HIPAA acknowledgment required
- Time-sensitive modules must be prioritized immediately upon assignment confirmation

- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved
- Facility is smoke-free; nicotine testing is mandatory
- Floating may include work at multiple nearby hospitals within 20 miles
- Locals accepted at same pay rate
- First-time travelers accepted
