Infusion Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Teaneck, New Jersey


Job Details

  • Position: Infusion Registered Nurse
  • Location: Teaneck, New Jersey
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (may vary by department)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Provide outpatient oncology and infusion nursing care.
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapies, medical infusions, injections, therapeutic phlebotomies, and central line blood draws.
  • Must have experience with chemotherapy and biotherapy administration.
  • Holidays may be required.
  • Charting system used: Varian/Aria.
  • Radius rule: Candidates living permanently in Westchester County, Rockland County, or New York City are not accepted. New Jersey residents are accepted.
  • No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience required).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 2 years of infusion nursing experience, including infusion experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Oncology nursing experience

Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • ONS or OCN certification
  • Pharmacology competency exam (unit-specific, must be completed no later than 1 day prior to start)
  • Unit-specific competency exam (must be completed no later than 1 day prior to start)
  • Proof of OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training
  • Additional certifications as applicable per unit

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
  • 10-panel drug screen (including marijuana) within 3 months of start.
  • Immunizations and positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer required; low titer may require declination form)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; if past positive TB, additional facility-specific questionnaire and chest X-ray required.
  • Annual N95 fit mask testing onsite during orientation.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 to 3/31).

Background & Documentation

  • 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start.
  • Driver’s license or state ID copy required.
  • Employment application and work history verification (minimum 1 year prior to start, allowing 30-day gaps or less) required.
  • Two professional references within 7 years of start (supervisory references not required).
  • Skills checklist and job description acknowledgment required.
  • Facility-specific documents to review and sign, including safety brochure, dress code, employee handbook, confidentiality & security agreement, license verification disclosure, and hire authorization forms.
  • Facility COVID-19 exemption forms (medical or religious) must be completed if applicable.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must review and complete a safety brochure quiz.
  • No acceptance of first-time travel nurses; prior travel experience is required.
  • Must be able to work holidays if required.

This position is ideal for experienced infusion nurses with oncology background seeking a travel assignment in New Jersey.
