CVICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet recognized
Beds: 562 staffed beds
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:00)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: Subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; on-call shifts count as called-off shifts
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Schedule Flexibility: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PICC line management experience
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusions
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health, ability to perform job functions without restrictions
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Fingerprinting: Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprint results required for clinical candidates without an IL license; prints must be taken in Illinois 3 business days prior to start
- State-Specific Searches: Required within 30 days of start (e.g., Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, Violent Offender registries)
- Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
- References: Two professional references required for clinical candidates

- Scrub Color: Any solid color
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
- Badge Photo: Required within one week of contract signing (color photo, mid-shoulders up, plain background)
- Orientation: Computer-based learning modules must be completed before or on first day of orientation
