Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 to 7:00)
  • Every other weekend required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience not required

Licensure & Certifications Required

  • Current Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Pending license accepted

Job Details

  • No on-call duties
  • Floating between like units required
  • Block scheduling not available
  • Local residents within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract

Clinical Competencies & Skills Required

  • Mask fitting
  • Knowledge of Cheyne-Stokes and Periodic Breathing
  • End-Tidal CO2 monitoring
  • Oxygen Saturation monitoring

Preferred Equipment Experience

  • Draeger ventilators
  • Bellavista ventilators

Facility Type

  • Short Term Acute Care hospital
  • 325 staffed beds
  • Electronic charting system: EPIC

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • E-Verify attestation
  • Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
  • State-specific background and registry checks for Washington
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer/declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer/declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declinations accepted
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
  • Respiratory safety clearance (annual, travel only)
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
  • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation (if applicable)

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Washington (RRT or CRT)
  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
