Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Average Daily Census: 25 patients in a 5-room unit
- Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per contract
- On-call: Required as needed
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Schedule: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
- Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Required Procedure Experience:
- Circulate procedures
- Diagnostic catheterizations (adult)
- Left heart catheterization
- Pulmonary Artery Line / Swan Ganz monitoring
- Right heart catheterization
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
Facility & Work Environment
- Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet designated
- Total Staffed Beds: 562
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by appropriate licensed provider
- Fit mask test required prior to start (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (negative dilute results require retest)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches within 30 days of start
- Fingerprinting required in Illinois within 3 business days prior to start (cannot be done out of state)
- Education verification and competency exam required
- Two professional references required
Additional Notes
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
- Badge photo required within one week of contract signing
- Candidates must complete computer-based learning modules before orientation
- Parking permit form and code of conduct acknowledgment required within 7 days of contract signing
