Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week (5x8 hours), typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (occasional 8:30 AM start)
- Rotating weekends: 1 weekend every 4 weeks
- Must be willing to float to other facilities if needed
- Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- No 4x10 shifts available; candidate must be closed to 5x8 schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cardiac Sonographer license in North Carolina
- Cardiac Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential through ARDMS
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge issuance)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:
- Social Security Trace with all aliases
- National Criminal Search
- Federal Court and National Sex Offender checks
- Education verification (primary source, including foreign equivalency if applicable)
- Transcript/Diploma for highest education level (if applicable)
- Fingerprinting (if required by position) must be completed in North Carolina prior to start
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years through a third-party vendor
- Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within last 24 months (one within 12 months)
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC approved
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (confirm with manager)
- Facility-specific competency exams including:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency (80%+ to pass)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail, 82%+ to pass, 2 attempts max)
- EPIC test (electronic health record system) required with 2 attempts allowed; additional attempts require manager approval
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG/Medication required for clinical staff (2 attempts max)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start (includes THC, opiates, cocaine, etc.)
- Fit mask test (N95 respirator) completed within current calendar year and updated annually (exceptions apply)
- Proof of adult Tdap vaccine
- TB testing: Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months or chest X-ray if positive history
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B titer or declination with booster series if non-reactive
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/22/2025 – 2/27/2026)
Facility Policies & Additional Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign floating policy (required for all agency staff)
- Candidate must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict guidelines (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing) prior to clearance
- Completion of health history form and upload prior to clearance
- Completion of onboarding tasks including Workday login and multi-factor authentication setup before arrival
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgements must be reviewed and signed as required
Important Notes
- Compliance documents and verifications must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of strict attendance policies
- Background check must have no open hits; all cases must be resolved before submission
- Education from schools listed on the Diploma Fraud Florida Education Audit list will not be accepted
- Candidates with foreign education must provide foreign equivalency evaluation documentation
