Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to float within scope to other departments including Post-Surgical, Ortho/Trauma, Oncology, Medical/MedSurg, Cardiac, Stroke/Heart Failure, and ER boarding
- Charting System: Cerner-Powerchart
- Scrub Color: Royal/White
- Parking: Free
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
- TB screening: Negative 2-step PPD or Qgold within 1 year of start (T-spot not accepted); if positive PPD, chest x-ray within past 12 months required
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Flu vaccine required prior to start or approved medical/religious exemption; documentation must be on file by December 15
- COVID vaccine exemption available for medical or religious reasons with required documentation
- Fit mask test preferred (not required for this location)
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, agency resource guide acknowledgment, and photo for badge required
- Completion of facility onboarding modules (approx. 8-10 hours) prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to complete an on-site EKG exam if applicable to role
- Must review and sign all required facility-specific agreements and guides prior to start
- No annual background check required for Advanced Practice Nurses (not applicable here)
- Extensions or agency flips do not require new modules if candidate has worked with the facility within the past year
This position offers a travel contract opportunity for experienced Telemetry RNs who are comfortable working varied patient populations and floating across multiple departments within a hospital setting.
