Description
Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide acute care occupational therapy services for adult to geriatric patients.
- Expected to manage approximately 8 patient visits per day.
- Work within an acute care hospital setting using Epic and SBAR communication systems.
- May float within the facility as needed, within scope of practice.
- Weekend shifts possibly required 1-2 days total during assignment.
- No on-call requirements.
- Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (up to two holidays).
Schedule
- Day shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days per week, 8 hours per day).
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Georgia.
- Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience, including experience within the last year.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in charge roles preferred.
Compliance & Onboarding
- Full compliance with credentialing and onboarding required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedules.
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
Required Documentation & Certifications
- Valid state occupational therapy license (Georgia).
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, and rubella (boosters may be pending if eligible).
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters may be pending if eligible).
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
- Flu vaccine or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC).
- Color blindness test required.
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months.
- Verification of most recent work history (can be pending at start with proof it is in process).
- Two clinical references required.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
Work Environment & Attire
- Scrub color choice: Eggplant Purple or Olive Green.
Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate.
- Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice.
- No call responsibilities.
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year’s Eve/Day.
