Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Pediatric Stepdown unit nursing position
  • Average nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
  • Weekend work required every other weekend
  • Floating to other units may be required
  • Guaranteed hours

Facility Type

  • Short Term Acute Care Hospital
  • Level I Trauma Center
  • Approximately 1,567 staffed beds
  • Electronic Health Record system: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Stepdown nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
