Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Shift: Day (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule: 3 consecutive 12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday rotations required
- No on-call duties
- Floating between campuses as needed
- Patient Care Unit (PCU) nurse with 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
- Experience with peripheral line care/management and PICC line management
- Ability to titrate drips
- Cardiac telemetry experience required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least 1 year of recent PCU experience
- Experience in Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit nursing
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Familiarity with American Heart Association (AHA) standards and protocols
Licensure
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, criminal, sex offender, federal court, and education verification
- Foreign equivalency evaluation if nursing education was obtained outside the U.S. (must be submitted within 30 days of start)
- Education verification by a third party (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
- Transcript or diploma copy may be required for verification
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination proof
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Fit mask test completed within current calendar year (N95 approved types)
- Physical exam (if applicable)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of mandatory questionnaire prior to offer
- Flexibility with scheduling and adherence to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Completion of all onboarding and compliance tasks by deadlines (e.g., compliance deadline is noon EST the Wednesday prior to start)
- Submission of a professional badge photo meeting strict facility guidelines (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
- Completion and signing of facility-specific forms including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months (one within 12 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within the last 5 years through a third party
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Important Notes
- All travelers are subject to floating between campuses as needed
- Candidates must pass the required EKG/dysrhythmia competency exam to continue in the process
- Background checks must be clear of any open hits before starting
- Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
- Candidates will receive Workday login information two weeks before start for onboarding tasks, including multi-factor authentication setup
