Physical Therapist - Home Health
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Provide physical therapy services in home health settings covering Montgomery and upper Prince George's County areas.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week).
- Caseload: Adult health care patients, approximately 6 visits per day.
- First-time travel therapists are accepted.
- Local candidates within the same metropolitan area are eligible.
- No weekend work required.
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Maryland.
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Experience in a home health setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Additional Requirements
- Fingerprinting: Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprint results required for behavioral health units; must be completed in Maryland with results available before start.
- Facility is smoke/nicotine free; no exceptions.
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge (recent, professional attire, neutral background).
- Candidates must comply with facility-specific forms including privacy act, CPS form notarization, and tobacco-free workplace acknowledgment.
- Candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing unless approved for PAPR use.
- Background checks include EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG verifications updated every contract renewal.
- National certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, and others are not required for this role unless specified by specialty or unit.
Work Environment
- Home health setting with travel to patient residences in specified counties.
- No on-call or weekend shifts required.
- Facility enforces strict compliance with health and safety protocols including immunizations, drug testing, and fit testing.
