Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Full Time)
Job Summary
Provide independent nursing care in a Basic Medical-Surgical unit, managing routine and complex patient needs. Demonstrate clinical awareness, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to support patient care. Ability to cope with and manage contingencies in nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Position is temporary with potential to convert to permanent.
- Work setting is a Basic MedSurg unit.
