Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Hazleton, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM (8-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Perform general ultrasound studies with some vascular exams.
- Limited obstetric (OB) exams.
- On-call and holiday rotation as needed.
- No floating to other departments.
- Weekend on-call requirement.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Local rate differential applies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience within the last year.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:
- SSN Trace
- County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
- Sex Offender Search
- Education Verification
- PA PATCH (Pennsylvania State Police Search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire.
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance required within 90 days of start.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start.
- Pennsylvania Medicheck Search required within 30 days of start.
- PA PATCH Search Results required within 90 days of start.
Certifications and Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as applicable.
- National certification/verification prior to facility start and upon expiration.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually).
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) as applicable.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RN candidates (if applicable).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 12 months of start for applicable clinical staff.
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) but are not specified for this role.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per guidelines.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
- COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC also acceptable).
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for respirator use starting 04/07/2025.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Fit Test Questionnaire must be completed prior to start.
- Badge photo required for new candidates starting 3/31/2025 or later (photo must be recent, forward-facing, color, no hats/masks).
- Affidavit for Provisional Employment must be completed prior to start.
- COVID and flu declination forms required if applicable.
Employment History and References
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days.
- Work history verification required for non-clinical candidates.
Additional Notes
- On-call and holiday rotation required.

- Return to Office (RTO) documentation required upon submission.
