MRI Technologist Travel Opportunity
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI imaging procedures, supports other imaging technologists, and facilitates efficient patient flow. The role requires flexibility to work different shifts and locations as needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, participating in quality assurance, and maintaining imaging competencies. The technologist must provide basic MRI patient screening and ensure MRI safety protocols are followed.
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
- On-call required
- Weekend work every other weekend
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent
Licenses & Certifications
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- MRT certification required
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association required
- State licensure required if working in New Mexico
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI exams and assist with patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and report malfunctions appropriately
- Participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advancements
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Adapt patient care methods to meet individual physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs
- Ensure proper scanning and storage of completed exams in PACS
- Follow PACS downtime procedures as a superuser and escalate issues as needed
- Promote staff growth and collaborate with management, coworkers, and physicians to optimize the work environment
- Support physician satisfaction by assisting radiologists and referring physicians

- Flexibility to work other shifts and at other campuses as required
