Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Bend, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
- Shift Options:
- Day Shift: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Night Shift: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 48
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- On-call Requirement:
- Call 2 weeknights every 6 weeks
- One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 12-hour shifts (days or nights) every 1.5 months
- Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
- Local candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
- Pending license: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Maximum 7 total days in 13-week assignment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Experience with Ortho Trauma cases
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually, including:
- SSN trace
- Counties lived/worked/school
- FACIS L3
- DOJ sex offender search
- Nationwide check
- Education verification (highest level)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
- Diploma or transcript required and must be on file
- Photo for badge (passport-style, solid background) required within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
- Facility-specific agreements and attestations must be signed and on file within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test (QGold within 1 year) or chest X-ray for positive responders
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer required (vaccine series alone not accepted; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers)
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (not required annually) covering amphetamines, barbiturates, cocaine, methaqualone, MDMA, methadone, opiates, oxycodone/oxymorphone, phencyclidine, propoxyphene, 6-acetyl morphine
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption required during flu season (deadline December 1)
- COVID vaccine preferred but not required; vaccination record or declination/exemption required
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start and annually
Competency and Documentation
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Specialty competency exam as applicable
- Annual skills checklist required
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers with 3 years of experience are eligible
- Must submit proof of address for compliance with local radius rule
