CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday)
• Call: Weekday call from home starting at 3:00 PM until the next day; must be able to arrive onsite within 30 minutes if called in
• Weekend call: 24-hour coverage, approximately once a month
• Experience: Required Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience; open heart surgery experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year

Experience

• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but CVOR experience is mandatory; open heart experience preferred

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form (prior to start)
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • Social Security Trace and County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender searches
  • Pennsylvania Statewide background check (Patch Certificate)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results (required for all candidates)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or negative chest X-ray if previously positive
• Annual TB questionnaire for past positive TB cases
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or accepted declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation checklist and pandemic attestation prior to start
• Completion of facility-required documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, disclosure statement, and job description acknowledgment
• Photo for badge issuance
• Completion of various training modules and competency assessments prior to start, including:

  • Assessment of Patient Policy
  • Interdisciplinary Plans of Care
  • Skin Integrity Training
  • Mobility Training
  • Catheter Training
  • Cardiac Procedure Education (for telemetry units)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Workplace Violence Prevention training completed onsite during orientation (no certificate provided)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared for early punch-in (5:45 AM) and early punch-out (2:15 PM) if patient scheduling requires the patient in the room at 7:00 AM
• Two professional references required within 3 years of start date (travel, allied, or per diem acute care)
• Skills checklist required annually
