Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Travel Position)

Job Overview

• Position in a Float Pool covering multiple ICU units including Surgical ICU (SICU), Medical ICU (MICU), Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU (CICU), and Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU).
• Floating may also include Intermediate Care (IMC) units with patient ratios of 1:3.
• Patient care includes basic ICU patients such as sedated, intubated, and patients on pressors; high complexity cases like CRRT are not included.
• Shift options: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 48.
• Weekend coverage required approximately 75% of the time.
• No call requirements.
• Patient ratios: 1:2 in ICU, 1:3 in IMC.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine.
• Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CTICU preferred.

• Focus on outstanding patient care and effective team communication.
• Must demonstrate a strong drive to excel both individually and as part of the team.
• Dress code: Scrubs with no specific color requirement.
• Unacceptable attire includes open-toed shoes (no crocs), jeans, clothing with large logos or prints, and any attire with profanity.

• This role supports staffing needs due to upcoming RN departures and leaves of absence, ensuring patient safety and unit productivity.
• Maintaining adequate staffing is critical to avoid bed closures and delays in care, especially for STEMI patients and cardiac ICU transfers.

Hours

• 36 hours per week scheduled (note: guaranteed 48 hours weekly as per description).
