Description

Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)

Location: Odessa, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day shift, 5 days/week, 40 hours/week)
  • Call: Sundays for CVA (stroke) patients only
  • Weekend Coverage: Every 4th weekend required
  • May be floated to Outpatient area as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas

Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification) may be required depending on facility needs—refer to job details for applicability

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • 7-year Background Check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education verification and transcript (if applicable)
  • Facility-specific documents including:
    • Notice of Employment
    • Standards of Conduct and Behavior
    • Dress Code Policy Acknowledgement
    • Agency Checklist
    • COVID Declination (if applicable)
    • HIPAA and Fair Warning Quiz Modules (complete within 72 hours of signing)
    • Orientation and Safety Training Modules (complete within 72 hours of signing)
    • Annual TB Questionnaire (updated if >30 days gap)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Fit Test for approved masks (N-95 Kimberly Clark Technol or Halyard Orange Duckbill), updated annually
  • TDAP or TD vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; Chest X-Ray if positive responders within 2 years; annual TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; plan for completion within 72 hours of signing contract
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or Declination during flu season (Oct-April); mask required if declination submitted
  • COVID: Initial series or facility-specific declination required; annual boosters not required

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within 3 years of start
  • Copy of resume or employment application
  • Annual skills checklist update

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
