Work Schedule
- Days: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
- Weekend, on-call, and floating requirements apply
Job Summary
- Coordinate and implement patient care tailored to the patient population on assigned units.
- Ensure quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
- Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, prioritizing care based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans as needed.
- Conduct Point of Care testing procedures.
- Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments to ensure completion of patient care support activities.
- Participate in orientation of new staff and students.
- Promote a positive work environment and contribute to unit and organizational goals.
- Maintain high levels of patient/customer satisfaction and confidentiality.
- Adapt to changes in work environment or schedule with flexibility.
- Comply with all hospital policies, including safety and attendance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
