Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Stroke (5N Med/Surg)
Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
Average Daily Census: 26-28 patients
Unit Details:
- 5N Med/Surg Medical Stroke unit
- Flex up to 35 beds
- Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, occasional surgical overflow (e.g., thyroidectomy), and stroke patients
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience or knowledge is a plus
- Experience with post-TPA or lower level stroke care preferred
Technology:
- EPIC electronic health record experience highly preferred
Team Composition:
- 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) per shift
Schedule:
- Weekends as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license valid in West Virginia
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Unexpired driver’s license required for submission
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
